BLOOMINGTON - The Best Buy Summer Classic AAU tournament in Bloomington is turning out to be a hot ticket. Several players ranked in the top 100 college recruits in the nation (and beyond) are in town.

Trying to keep the content local, FOX Preps took in a game between Minnesota Fury U17 against Grassroots Canada.

Guard Terez Van Pelt of Park Center proved as a junior that he is more than capable of controlling a game. His game has continued to blossom and he led the Fury to a three point win over the Grassroots squad.

The Fury jumped out in the first half and led by double digits. Utilizing great ball movement and even better offensive rebounding, the squad looked a step quicker than that of our neighbor to the north. Grassroots made a nice 8-0 run to start the second half to pull to within two points. The run didn’t stop as they would take command of the game and stretch the lead to nine points.

Fury went back to the type of play that helped them build the lead in the first half and clawed their way back into the game. They would eventually take the lead and held on for a 54-51 win to advance to the semi-final round.
