Maple Grove, Minnetonka sit atop of the league

CHAMPLIN PARK - The 2010 high school basketball season is four months away but that hasn’t stopped 12 teams from across the metro from gathering every Tuesday night to play a double-header to prepare for the upcoming campaign.

The league is jam packed with Northwest Suburban conference including defending champ Maple Grove, Osseo, Blaine, Anoka, Coon Rapids all join host Champlin Park. Minnetonka, Forest Lake, Totino-Grace, Mounds View, Roseville and Elk River round out the 12 team field.

Currently Maple Grove (10-0) and Minnetonka (9-1) sit atop of the standings and will face each other in one of the final games of the regular season next week. The playoffs will begin next week as well with the top 8 teams battling in quarterfinal action. The semi-final and final rounds will take place Tuesday July 27.
