ROGERS, Minn - Since it first opened in September of 2003, the girls’ basketball program at Rogers has continued to churn out winners. In their seven years, the program has marched to the state tournament twice (2006,2008), finishing third in 2008. Two one-point losses in the 2007 and 2010 section title games have the Royals in the conversation when it comes to power programs in class AAA.

Think for one second how difficult it is to get to the state tournament one time. The Royals are two points away from four times in seven seasons.

Head coach Jeremy Digiovanni has been the head coach since 2008. He served as an assistant for two seasons prior to that and helped guide the Royals to their third place finish in the spring of 2008.

The Royals basketball community has watched as names such as Casey Mann and Jen Dowd have rolled through. Maria Laughlin has played varsity since her sophomore year when she was second in scoring averaging 10 points per game. Her junior season saw her lead the team in scoring with over 12 points per game.
