OSSEO - Katie Ormsbee knows a little something about Osseo girl’s soccer. The 2004 Oriole graduate played varsity for three seasons and is now back at Osseo but in a slightly different role.
The Oriole turned Cobber turned Oriole has found her way back home and as head coach, will lead the program she once suited up for.
“It’s really different,” said Ormsbee. “Normally the teams I have done tryouts for I know all the girls. I don’t know any of them and I am using that to my advantage.”
Ormsbee takes over a program that finished 14-4-1 last year and lost 1-0 to Centennial in the section semi-final round.
The Northwest Suburban conference will once again provide the Orioles with a challenge and Ormsbee lists Centennial as the favorite.
Ormsbee played for the 2002 Oriole team that won the conference championship for a second straight season and put together a program best 17-2 record.
